I enjoy learning how to be a loving, caring, and responsive mom. My favorite parenting author, Aletha Solter, was recommended by a family friend and has been a constant source of inspiration and help. You can find more information on her parenting theories by searching for “Aware Parenting” or visiting her site The Aware Parenting Institute.
I have found support and friends in groups such as La Leche League, Diaper Free Baby, and Moms Club. Now I am pregnant with our second child due in early April.
I am an enthusiastic believer in unschooling, and try to practice child led learning in as many aspects as I can think of! Including child led introduction to solids, and child led potty independence. I am considering unschooling at home or in a Sudbury style educational setting.
Through my own self discovery journey I came to really admire the author Maureen Murdock. I look forward to begin practicing guided imagery with Sarah as described in one of her books “Spinning Inward”.
